Bridge Environment seeks to catalyze a cultural shift in how our society addresses environmental issues. We bridge the divides that exist between the scientific and policy worlds, and between social and biological sciences. Many environmental decisions fail to fully heed scientific advice, but scientific advice is occasionally biased and often not relevant to the crucial trade-offs among competing values that shape policy debates. We provide relevant and unbiased advice to any interested party, and also work to educate scientists, policy makers, and the public on how to have a more informative dialog over environmental issues.
Uncertainty is key to our work. Extensive research has illustrated the difficulty people have in making informed decisions when choosing among uncertain future scenarios. We rely on the insight provided by behavioral economics and cognitive and social psychology to craft better scientific advice in the face of an uncertain future.
